I'm an early thirty something former believer that started my journey toward atheism in 2011. I grew up in the church so there is nothing a Christian can tell me or bible verse they can show me that I don't already know. I became an atheist when my life reached this crossroad where I looked at my experiences and then took a long hard look at the rest of the world to only realize something is just not right.
When it comes to the economy I'm fiscally conservative, but I consider myself closer to being a libertarian with a few liberal social views. I support same sex marriage. I believe in stem cell research. I value science and education. I think marijuana and Euthanasia should be legalized. I'm not a fan of animal captivity and we shouldn't wear their fur or skin. I believe in hunting but only for food. I believe in making profit, but I loathe greed so that's why I support a living wage. I am against corporate bailouts/welfare. I'm not for big business per say (I'm for entrepreneurship; small business, free enterprise, etc) but I realize its benefits. I also loathe welfare fraud. I'll help support the needy but I refuse to fund the lazy! I'm for true capitalism without the corporate cronies. I'm not a pacifist because I believe there are times you have to fight but ultimately kindness, altruism and diplomacy should be the main goal. I am for a strong border security, enforcing our illegal immigration laws and I'm against the law stating if you were born here you instantly become a citizen. I don't like big government. I like limited government and maximum civil liberties. I believe in low taxes, free markets and the private sector. The truth is governments create nothing but regulate everything. I oppose statism. I'm for freedom, individuality, ingenuity and creativity. I'm against government bureaucratic red tape and over regulation just as much as I am against religious dogma and indoctrination. If man is not trying to control you with a god they are trying to control you with big government. There is not much difference between Democrat and Republican these days. One worships a god saying to put trust in him and the other wants you to put trust in government. I say no gods and no masters!
